GENERAL CARL E. MUNDY, USMC (RET)**** Former
Commandant of the United States Marine Corps 1991 - 1995:
General Mundy was one of the Marine Corp's most
respected Commandants. The
General is a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, whose Marine Corps
career spanned more than 37 years, in which he rose from rifle platoon
to leader to the command of the entire Marine Corps. As Commandant, he saw to it that Marine Corps' Fleet
Marine Forces, which had been subordinate to the Navy's Operating
Forces, was elevated to "component" status and full
partnership under the unified commanders of the Joint-Chiefs-of-Staff. |
