MAJOR GENERAL LEROY W. "SWEDE" SVENSON, USAF (RET)**

Former Commander of USAF Manpower and Personnel Center:  The General is a highly experienced tactical combat aviator, having flown extensively in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  During Korea, The General flew 114  fighter-bomber missions in the Lockheed F-80C.  During the Vietnam War,  Svendson served with the Air Force's elite Air Commando "special operations" attack squadrons.  As an Air Commando, the General flew 124 strike missions in the AT-28D "COIN" (counter-insurgency) attack aircraft throughout Southeast Asia.  The General is a member of the Air Commandos Hall of Fame, and is very active in the restoration and preservation of historic military aircraft.
