In October 1997, the Beijing Aviator’s Association invited members of the Flying Tigers Association to visit China for a two-week sight seeing tour.  Five veteran Flying Tigers pause for a group photo at the entrance to Lt. General Claire L. 9. An impressive line-up of differing models of Chinese F-5 fighters on display at the China Aviation Museum .  The F-5 is the Chinese version of the MiG-17 family of fighters. Among the many rare and interesting  aircraft that are displayed at the Museum, is probably the world’s largest collection of MiG designed jet fighter aircraft.

 


   


10. The centerpiece of the China Aviation Museum's exterior exhibits is a Russia-built Beriev BE-6 flying boat.  This particular aircraft is one of a small number of BE-6’s that were operated by the Chinese Navy as a maritime patrol bomber.
