Former American Volunteer Group fighter ace John "Dick" Rossi is seen standing at the rear of a CNAC Douglas C-47 transport. Mr. Rossi was one of 18 former Flying Tigers, who joined CNAC following the
deactivation of the American Volunteer Group. As a transport pilot for CNAC, Mr. Rossi would fly 750 missions over the
treacherous "Hump" air route, setting the wartime record for number of flights made over the vital air link that connected unoccupied China to the Allied World.
