FOURTEENTH AIR FORCE :  
      
1. Brigadier General David "Tex" Hill, is seen climbing aboard his North American P-51B Mustang.  At the time the photograph was taken, Hill a former Flying Tiger, was the commander of the Fourteenth Air Force's 23 rd Fighter Group.
 
 


2.  A Consolidated B-24 Liberator bomber of the Fourteenth Air Force's 308th Bombardment Group is seen heading for a Japanese target in southeast China.
 


3. The Commander of the Fourteenth Air Force, Lt. General Claire L. Chennault is seen checking maintenance work that is being done to one of his North American P-51 Mustang fighters at Kunming.



 

4.  Lt. Colonel Charles Older is seen in the cockpit of his North American P-51D Mustang, the "Yokahama Yard Bird."  At the time this photo was taken, Older was the Deputy Commander of the 23rd Fighter Group.  A former Flying Tiger, Lt. Colonel Older would become the top-scoring American fighter ace of the air war in China.
