1. A stone roller
used during World War II to level and pave runways used by the Flying
Tigers, the 14th Air Force, and the aviators flying the Hump Route from
India to China is unveiled in Kunming on March 29, 2004 by Yunnan Province
Deputy Governor Cheng Yingxuan and the Executive Director of the
Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundtation, Jeffrey B. Greene. The Yunnan
Province government donated the stone roller to the U.S. Air Force Museum
in Dayton, Ohio. The Stone Roller “Hand-Over” Ceremony took place in the
courtyard of Lt. General Claire L. Chennault’s former AVG, CATF and 14th
Air Force headquarters in Kunming.
