"BIG BANG IN BURMA"
In "Big
Bang in Burma" Roy Grinnell dramatically illustrates a typical
low-level attack mission flown by North American B-25 Mitchell bombers
of the First Air Commando Group. Grinnell has captured the moment that Air Commando bomber
pilot and former Flying Tiger R.T. Smith, has unleashed his aircraft's
powerful 75mm cannon on a Japanese position somewhere in Burma. In the image, Smith's aircraft and a companion B-25 are
being escorted by an Air Commando North American P-51A Mustang fighter.
