"HAWKS OVER CHINA"

In The "HAWKS OVER CHINA" Roy Grinnell has caught the moment in August 1937, when Chinese-American fighter "Ace" Arthur Chin begins his first aerial combat.  Flying the Curtiss Hawk III fighter, Chin and a companion have just begun a diving attack on a formation of Japanese Navy Mitsubishi G3M Nell bombers.

Smith, has unleashed his aircraft's powerful 75mm cannon on a Japanese position somewhere in Burma.  In the image, Smith's aircraft and a companion B-25 are being escorted by an Air Commando North American P-51A Mustang fighter.
