SINO-AMERICAN AVIATION HERITAGE FOUNDATION'S
YOUNG TIGERS PROGRAM

"FROM THE LESSONS OF THE PAST, NURTURE THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW"

The Young Tigers Program is designed to introduce young people from the United States and China to the principles of flight, the benefits of science and technology, the history of aviation, and the common threads of their own past and future.  Developed with the cooperation of the China Aviation Museum and a prestigious American Aerospace Museum, the program will feature student exchange programs and a joint-interactive aerospace education curriculum in which young people from both nations will explore their common history, their shared responsibilities, and the potential of aerospace development.  The Young Tigers Program will be a training ground for future American and Chinese designers, engineers, scientists, pilots and astronauts who will work together to meet the challenges both countries will face in the 21st Century.

The Young Tigers program will connect school age children who are participating in ongoing aviation programs at the China Aviation Museum, Beijing, China and the San Diego Aerospace Museum in San Diego, California via the Internet and direct video conferencing.  Along with the shared internet learning experience, the young people who participate in the program will have the opportunity ask questions of, and learn directly from members of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation's Founding Board. A number of the SAAHF’s Founding Board members have agreed to participate as voluntary educational mentors to the young people who participate in the Program.  Included among these participating Mentors are; former Flying Tigers, veteran “Hump” airlift pilots, test pilots and engineers, astronauts, record setting airline pilots, men and women aviator whose experiences in the world of aviation have exposed them to perhaps nearly every military and civilian production-built aircraft of the last sixty years.
